About Us

Geomorphe is a specialist waterway management and fluvial geomorphology consultancy, based in Brisbane, Queensland and Wangaratta, Victoria, working with clients across Australia. We're a small, dedicated team of environmental engineers and geomorphologists who bring deep technical expertise to every catchment and waterway management project, backed by more than 50+ years of combined experience.

We focus on considered, science-based solutions grounded in a thorough understanding of geomorphic processes and environmental engineering principles. Our team provides expert advice on sustainable river, floodplain and catchment management, helping water authorities, government agencies, utilities and private clients protect and restore Australia's waterways.

Our Team

Julian, Tom and Mick are experienced fluvial geomorphologists and environmental engineers, with a combined 50+ years delivering waterway and catchment management projects across Australia. Our team's technical depth spans geomorphic assessment, erosion control design, and fish passage and habitat design, reflected in an extensive portfolio of work for water authorities, government and private clients nationwide.

Julian Martin

BEng (Hons), MIEAust, CPEng, RPEQ, RPEV

Julian is an Environmental Engineer and Fluvial Geomorphologist with over 20 years of experience specialising in waterway management.

He has experience in design, modelling, construction, and project management and has undertaken a variety of projects in the environmental and engineering fields incorporating geomorphic, hydraulic, and hydrologic investigation work.

Dr Mick Cheetham

PhD, BSc (Hons), CEnvP (Specialist Geomorphologist)

Mick is a Fluvial Geomorphologist with over 20 years of experience coordinating research and consultancy projects for clients such as water authorities, utility companies, local and state government, and private clients.

Mick is a Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP) Geomorphology Specialist. His expertise lies in waterway assessment and management with specialist expertise in geomorphology and sedimentology.

Tom Atkin

BEnv (Hons), MEng, MIEAust

Tom is an Environmental Engineer with 13 years of experience specialising in Waterway Management.

Tom has extensive experience undertaking waterway engineering design, geomorphic assessments, hydraulic analysis, and construction support, with a range of complementary technical skills in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, GIS and drafting.
